The Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) is the state agency responsible for:
- Effective planning, implementation and management of statewide technology infrastructure
- Pooling purchasing power to drive down costs
- Adopting statewide technology rules and standards
The Go DIRect Program allows customers to purchase directly from DIR-contracted vendors. Vendors provide product and pricing information and send purchase orders (with the DIR contract number) and payments directly to the Go DIRect vendor. This streamlined order process ensures that customers receive their products more quickly.
Texas state agencies, public institutions of higher education, public school districts and local government entities are eligible to buy IT equipment and services through DIR. For more information and legal citations, visit the DIR Customer Eligibility page.
